Bed cover

The bed cover is easy to sew by yourself, and as a result it will turn out very nice and more profitable than buying in a store. There is another plus in sewing with your own hands - this is that you can choose the right fabric for you, in color and texture.
To make bed covers, you will need to purchase:
•The cloth.
It is best to choose quilted fabric on synthetic winterizer - satin, jacquard, etc. It is not as thick as a blanket, but it has a very beautiful embossment. The width of the standard quilted fabric is 200 cm, which corresponds to the length of a standard double bed. And the length should be purchased fabric, depending on the width of the bed.
So, for example, on a bed with a width of 140 cm and a length of 200 cm, you should purchase a fabric measuring 200 cm (width) x 170 cm (length).
On a bed 160 cm wide: 200 cm (width) x 190 cm (length).
On a bed 180 cm wide: 200 cm (width) x 210 cm (length).
• Fringe for edge trimming. Fringes are best matched to the color of the fabric. The amount of fringe depends on the amount of tissue acquired.
On a bed 140 cm wide: 7.5-8 m fringes.
On a bed 160 cm wide: 8-8.5 m fringes.
On a bed 180 cm wide: 8.5-9 m fringes.
Dimensions are given with a margin of 0.5 m.
• Threads, scissors, etc.
• If the quilted fabric on the back does not have a pad and the synthetic winterizer is directly visible, you will need to purchase a pad fabric. The lining fabric can be any, for example, it can be calico. The main thing is that she does not sit down when washing. The lining size is equal to the size of the main fabric.
We proceed directly to sewing the bedspreads. For a start, you should trim uneven edges.
To do this, crop the uneven edge. Do not worry about the size of your fabric being reduced. The width of the fabric is 200 cm - this is the usable area that will remain after trimming.
After trimming the edges, you need to machine them with a machine.
To do this, take the edge of the quilted fabric and stitch it with a zigzag machine along the edge of the fabric. If you have an overlock, it is best to do this with it.
If the fringe was sold to you not in a whole piece, but in parts, then you should sew it on a typewriter.
Fold the two parts of the fringe with the front sides to each other.
Sew from the edge using a sewing machine.
It is best to flash with a zigzag or overlock, then the seam will be strong and will not go apart.
The fabric and fringe are ready. It remains only to sew the fringe to the fabric.
To do this, take the fabric, put it with the front side towards you, apply fringe on top of it, also face up.
Sew on the machine with a regular straight line.
When sheathing corners, we simply wrap the fringe and holding it with your fingers so that it does not move out, we also flash it in a straight line.
The bedspread is ready! You can make them your bed. Also, a bed cover is a very good gift for a married couple.
