Rag doll - Dunno

My granddaughter is very fond of dolls for boys, so without thinking twice, I gave her my next “masterpiece”.

Everything, as usual, begins with the transfer of the paper pattern to the fabric. I always sew dolls from flax.

Patterns were cut out with allowances, swept away, sewn, turned on the front side.

Filled with sintepon or holofiber - what anyone has. Head and torso more tight. And the arms and legs are softer so that they are easily bent when playing.

We sewed all the holes into which the synthetic winterizer was filled.

Sewed buttons. This is so that later it would be more convenient to sew the limbs to the body.

We begin to sew. First, through one hand we sew with a stitch a thick strong thread through both holes on the button in the marked place. Pull the thread from the button to the side by 10 cm.

Then the protruding ends from the side of the alleged sewing of the second hand are sequentially passed through the holes on the button. A needle will have to be worn on each end of the thread.

We make knots at both ends, tightening while tightening so that our hands do not dangle. We cut off the excess ends.

We do the same thing with the legs, just as firmly pressed to the body. The legs should not stagger. Our boy will stand on them if desired.

An accordion formed between the legs. It's okay, this is not visible under the clothes, but can stand firmly if he puts his shoes on a flat cardboard sole.

Now we proceed to the design of the face. Embroider the mouth with red or pink thread floss, then the eyes. Before embroidering, be sure to mark it with safety pins so that your eyes and mouth are exactly where you want.

We embroider the eyebrows and make cilia from bobbin thread. My boy is small, only 20 cm, he does not need thick eyelashes.

I usually don’t make one toy because my granddaughter has a twin brother. Therefore, two dolls with different clothes, eyes and other things. In the photo they are lying with their heads not sewn in, because I was going to make them all-in-one clothes, but then changed my mind - let them undress.

According to this pattern, I cut them clothes - trousers and a shirt.

Cutting with seam allowances.

Pants at the top put on an elastic band. She decorated the shirt with lace in the center and an elastic band with a ruffle in the neck. I made the fastener on the back with Velcro at the neck so that the children would be comfortable playing - now they love to take off their clothes at this age!

Dressed the boy. Sewed his head.

Now proceed to the hairstyle. I cut the threads, divided each into 3 parts. Then the hair will be soft, fluffy and light.

Crocheted a small hat with a beveled lower edge along the occipital part.

I sewed it.

With the help of a hook I stretched my hair under the hat, hung it like a fringe, trimmed it, and did my hair.

But I have two of them, a boy.

Here they are, my handsome men, standing and holding each other by the handle. Exactly my grandchildren when they do not fight.

But they began to indulge and climbed into slippers.

For a boy of my beloved granddaughter, I knitted a hat, he looked like Dunno from the Solar city.

And of course, he made a complete mess - he climbed onto the curtains! Give your children and grandchildren joy, it will reward you handsomely!
