I once bought a centrifugal pump to water my garden to pump water from a well located nearby. And I thought about why pulling a 220 V network to the well and wasting electricity when it is possible to remake a pump for low-voltage power and power the entire structure from solar panels or a battery.
Such a pump can be taken with you anywhere and pump water even from a well, even from the nearest river or lake. And most importantly: the pump does not lose its functionality and can be powered by at least 220 V AC, at least 24 V DC.

Refining a centrifugal pump

Here he is a 380 W superficial centrifugal pump, clamped in a vice.

Remove the protective grill and the impeller.

Next we will connect to the shaft, for this it is necessary to prepare the driveshaft. It can easily be bought at any car disassembly. Great steering gear. We cut it from all sides to the plug, and instead of the shaft, weld on each side of the sleeve.
So that the diameters of the engine shaft and the inner diameter of the universal joint now coincide, we put a sleeve on the engine shaft.

We now put the cardan on the shaft, on which a hole was made previously on the side on one side. We drive a self-tapping screw into it to fix the node itself. Of course, from the point of view of mechanics, everything is not so right - but everything is held securely.

Now we take the direct current motor. You can buy one on Ali Express - //ali.pub/3ezy3a.

Its power, in comparison with the asynchronous pump motor, is almost the same - 350 W, with a supply voltage of 24 V.
We connect it to the other end of the cardan. To do this, a sleeve with an external thread was welded on the motor shaft, and an internal one on the cardan.

Now just fasten one to the other.

We fix the DC motor on a wooden stand.

Now the common shaft can rotate any of the electric motors. We connect power from the solar panel and check the operation of the pump.

Installation

Sazhin is located almost at the beds.

Two solar panels will be used for power, with a total power of 400 W and a voltage of 24 V.

For frequent movement, they are mounted on a wheeled trolley.
We take the pump and go down into the well well.

We connect the input and output pipes.

We connect power and isolate the output. Then, to start the centrifugal pump, we unscrew the plug and pour water for the first start.

As soon as the pump "grabbed" - we spin everything back. Water went through the pipes. To reduce vibration, the entire structure was mounted on a piece of foam.

Then we go and water the garden as much as necessary.

Output

This is a great solution: modify the pump to work on low-voltage power and make it portable. Take with you to the country, and if there is no solar panels - use batteries.
