In this review, the author shows how to make a universal 2-in-1 machine for a home workshop and a garage from different rubbish and unnecessary parts.

Using this home-made machine, you can process metal workpieces (a file nozzle is used for this) and saw plywood or boards.

The first thing you need is a shock absorber strut from the car. We take the rod out of it and cut off the edges of the body with the guides for the rod.

Then cut off a piece of the tube, which is inserted into the blanks from the body of the shock absorber strut. We weld the joint.

The main stages of work

At the next stage, the author is engaged in processing the stock. On one side, you need to cut a groove into which the nozzle (file or homemade file) will then be inserted.

At the other end of the stem, the author cuts a piece of metal, and then drills a hole. The bearing is attached here.

Next, from two metal rings (can be cut from a piece of pipe) and a round bar, a homemade connecting rod is made. We put it on the bearing, which is mounted on the rod.

After that, the author makes a crank. To do this, he uses a disc cut out of sheet metal, a piece of a round bar and a bolt with a nut.

Then you need to cut a piece of round pipe of the desired length and a piece of square bar. We weld the square to the pipe. We clean welds.

To the very first part, made of a piece of pipe and two parts from the body of the shock absorber strut, the author welds two pieces of a square bar.

Homemade machine assembly

After all the basic details are ready, the author proceeds with the assembly. First of all, he collects a crank mechanism.

After that, a piece of a round tube with bearings inside (to which a piece of a square is welded) is put on the crank shaft.

From the sections of the profile pipe, a frame is made to which the assembled structure is attached.

This bed is then attached vertically to the table. Separately, it will be necessary to make another desktop with a hole for the nozzle. It can be cut from a piece of sheet metal.

The author uses an electric drill as a drive, but you can put an engine (for example, from a washing machine).

At the last stage, the master makes a homemade file for sawing plywood and boards. How it looks, you can see the photo below.
