Open shelves in the kitchen are a new trend in design. They are great for small spaces, leaving you feeling spacious.

The author offers a very stylish and simple idea with lacing. Such a simple element will turn an ordinary shelf into a designer home decoration.

You will need three identical wooden planks with a thickness of 1.5-2 cm. Unpainted wood is suitable for many interior styles and goes well with textiles and metal fittings.

Rings for lace is best to choose in a golden or bronze color. With a thin drill, make holes for the rings at regular intervals at one end and 1/3 of the length of the shelf.

The main stages of work

Now fasten the boards with screws. To prevent wood from cracking, be sure to pre-drill holes with a drill. Since the boards are quite thick, the shelf will already be quite sturdy.

Black painted wooden blocks complete the shelf color scheme. Try to choose a matte or semi-matte paint and apply it in several layers to hide the wood texture.

Also, the bars will play the role of additional strengthening, now the design will not work out under the weight of heavy books or vases.

It's time to insert the rings into the drilled holes. Usually there is a thread on such hardware. If it is not there, you can dip the mount in glue. When all the parts are in place, the tree must be covered with clear oil or stain.

After the composition dries up, decorate the shelf. Thread the thick black lace crosswise into rings.

Also, a rubber band is well suited for this, it holds tension well and does not twist.

The last detail will be a hanging dryer for dishes and towels. From black leatherette, make straps and fasten so that a round pole with a length of about half a shelf is tightly inserted into them. Glue the edges of the straps to the bottom of the decorative shelf and attach with short screws.

The design shelf is ready. It will look great like decorative figurines, so dishes or jars with blanks. Transforming the interior is not so difficult, you just have to try a little.
