Using a homemade electric pencil, you can engrave on metal - that is, apply indelible inscriptions to various metal surfaces. At the same time, it is not difficult to make such a device.

The scope of the electric pencil is wide enough. It is possible, for example, in a garage to sign an entire instrument or draw decorative patterns on sheet metal. Also still make a mark on the surface of the blade.

An electric pencil is a mini stand (can be made of plywood or OSB), on which a switch and a cartridge with a 100 W bulb are placed. Also required wires with clamps. Well, you also need a regular pencil.

The main stages of work

In order for an ordinary pencil to become electric, it is necessary to carry out some manipulations. In the pencil itself, you need to make a small incision, up to the graphite rod. It is important not to break it, otherwise there will be no contact.

To begin "drawing", you need to fix the clamp with the phase wire to the part, and the second clamp to the "bare" part of the pencil. Work better with dielectric gloves.

Please note that such a pencil draws only with dots - and at the moment of touch, like during welding, a spark appears.

By the way, a light bulb is needed to remove excess load. Otherwise, the electrode becomes red hot. It is sequentially located in an electrical circuit - the phase wire goes first to the lamp, and from it to the part.
