Car owners often face the need to replace steering traction. However, after replacement, in most cases, you have to do the collapse - toe-in. How to replace without convergence? There is one easy way.

To do this, take the caliper, stretch it to the maximum and fix it. What will be the size does not matter. Then we find the center on the tip (if necessary, make a mark with a punch).

Note that new center tips usually have a default. Then
we install one caliper sponge on the center of the tip, and the second - we make a scratch on the rod. The mark should be clearly visible.

The main stages of work

After making a mark with a caliper, unscrew the tip, nut and remove the rod. This can be done with a universal puller or a key of a suitable size, having previously cut it and welded a piece of the square.

Next, we expose the ball itself perfectly in the center. To do this, put it on the table and roll in to set it flat. We take a fully extended caliper, apply and make a second scratch. After that, measure the distance between two scratches.

We take a new draft and with the most extended caliper we make a scratch on the draft. Then you will need to transfer the previously obtained size and punch the mark. After that, you need to assemble everything in the reverse order: put the thrust, put on the boot, tighten the nut.

Twisting the tip, you need to save the size that was between the first two points. Thus, the convergence remains the same as it was (provided that it was there).

Now you can independently replace the steering rod without the need for urgent wheel alignment. See the video on the site for more details.
