Homemade boomerang can be made from unnecessary scraps of lumber, which often remain after sawing boards. Making a boomerang is a creative process, but don't think that everything is simple.

In addition to aesthetics, aerodynamics are also important, which depends on the correctly selected shape of the product. Therefore, special attention should be paid to creating a sketch. If you cannot draw a suitable shape, download the sample from the Internet.

To make a homemade wooden boomerang, you need solid types of wood: oak, birch, beech or hornbeam. First of all, we select more or less even cuts of sawn timber and cut off everything unnecessary from them. We cut the edges, and align the wide plane with a plane.

Boomerang manufacturing process

We dissolve the prepared wooden blocks into thin lamellas, which then need to be calibrated to the same size on a belt grinder. After that, we cut with a knife one edge of the lamellas and glue them at an angle.

After gluing, we remove the dried glue on the sides of the lamellas, cut out the paper template of the future boomerang and stick it on top of the workpiece. Cut the desired shape along the contour on a band saw or using a jigsaw.

At the last stage of work, we grind the workpiece and grind the boomerang edge at an angle of about 30 degrees on the outside and 45 degrees on the inside. This is necessary in order to achieve the necessary aerodynamic properties.

The finished product is varnished. You can watch the process of making a homemade boomerang from unnecessary scraps of lumber in the video on our website.
