A simple do-it-yourself oven for a cauldron

If you like to often relax in the fresh air (for example, in the country) and cook something in a cauldron, then make yourself a simple portable stove from improvised materials. On such a furnace, you can not only install a cauldron, but also a large frying pan - it can be made of a tractor harrow disk, which has a convex shape.

The main stages of work

As a working chamber, you can use a piece of steel pipe of suitable diameter or another metal container. First, we cut out the oven door with the grinder of the desired size, and then connect it to the body using a makeshift hinge. If you use a pipe as a working chamber, you must definitely weld the bottom.

Four oblique legs are welded to the lower part of the furnace body (for example, segments of a water pipe can be used) and for greater rigidity we reinforce them with two jumpers. Pieces of steel strip are welded across to the jumpers so that a grate is formed in the lower part of the furnace.

Then in the upper part of the housing of the combustion chamber we cut out a square “window” for the chimney. The chimney itself is made of a thick-walled profile pipe 100x100 mm. To make a “knee” at a right angle, just saw off two pieces of the profile at an angle of 45 degrees and weld together.

Finishing touch

On top of the chimney we install a protective cap - "umbrella". Then it remains only to weld the carrying handles on the sides of the oven, as well as to grind the surface with a grinder and paint. See the video on the website for the step-by-step process of making a homemade furnace for a cauldron.
