With the help of a homemade mallet, you can assemble furniture and shelves, as well as work with other “delicate” materials, which you can’t approach with an ordinary hammer. The tool has two “standard” nozzles: wooden and polyurethane, which are easy to replace if necessary.

If you use homemade nozzles made of copper, brass and other materials, you can expand the functionality of a mallet. In this case, it will be possible to straighten the car body, assemble the engine and perform other work.

To make a mallet you will need:

  • water fitting - steel tee;
  • polyurethane disc;
  • wooden blanks for the head and handle.

The main stages of work

For this homemade product you will need a regular plumbing tee with a diameter of 15 mm, which is often used when installing water pipes in an apartment and a house. The handle will be made of a wooden bar 40x40 mm and a length of 30 cm, which will need to be rounded on a lathe.

If the lathe is not available, then the handle of the mallet can be made manually, picking up the cuttings of the desired diameter. At the end of the handle, you need to reduce the diameter and cut the thread. To do this, use a regular 15 mm die.

At the next stage, we make replaceable nozzles for a mallet - wooden (from oak or beech) and polyurethane. Screw them into the holes in the tee. The handle for a more aesthetic look can be coated with colorless varnish or mineral oil.
