Using this homemade tool, you can twist steel strips and square bars of any length. Such decorative elements are then used in the manufacture of gates, gates, fences and bars for windows. Moreover, it is possible to make a device for twisting metal from available materials.
The main stages of work
First of all, it is necessary to make a vertical stand on which the whole structure will be mounted. To do this, take a piece of steel pipe with a diameter of 80-100 mm of suitable length, weld on top of a square metal support plate.
The pipe itself is concreted to ensure its stability during operation. You can also fix it to the floor with bolts by welding the bottom plate. Four bolt holes must be drilled in the upper base plate to secure the two brackets.
Assembly assembly
A long profile pipe is inserted into the holes of the brackets, on which two pieces of a larger square profile are worn - they must be movable. A thick plate is welded to the extreme section of the profile from above, and two bearings are attached to it.
Two segments of the square are inserted into the inner ring of the bearings (first they need to be cut out) and fixed by welding. Then the bearings are welded to the extreme movable profile. At the edges of the squares you need to weld the handles - from a round bar or a regular pipe.
Two pieces of a plate are vertically welded to the second section of the profile, in which it is necessary to drill holes for the bolts to fix the workpiece. Then we clean the places of the welds and the home-made device for twisting the steel strip and square is completely ready for work.
