To implement my plan, I needed two ordinary paper napkins with a pattern, alcohol, decoupage varnish, a medium hard brush, acrylic volumetric scissors and a couple of hours of free time.
Before shredding paper with scissors, you need to imagine the result of future crafts and cut only the necessary elements. When the necessary motifs are cut out, place them on the surface of the "patient".
Before proceeding with gluing, remove all lower layers. As a rule, there are two or three of them.
Before the main part of the work, you need to degrease the surface well by wiping it with alcohol.
Now you can transgress to the most basic. The selected motive must be glued very carefully and quickly, since the paper is very thin and quickly impregnated with liquid varnish. It is best to smear a fragment of the picture from the middle to the edges, just like gluing a wallpaper. Raising the edge slightly, apply the varnish directly on top of the picture.
It is better not to regret the lacquer; after drying, it will still become transparent. While one motive dries, you can do the rest.
After an hour, you can add a couple of strokes with a volume contour. In the store I liked two colors: metallic gray and emerald.
You can draw, repeating the contours of the pattern, or you can in a chaotic manner.
Now we wait until the circuit dries, usually it takes no more than an hour.
Then, you need to cover the patterns a couple more times with varnish, with interruptions per hour - one and a half. Do not be afraid to get out of the picture, because the varnish will become transparent after drying, and glossy stains only add their own zest.
After good drying, the work can be checked for strength. If everything was done correctly, the motives are not afraid of even enhanced cleaning with a stiff brush. My son always acts as a checker, he always needs to try to pick everything with a fingernail.
Here are more examples of transforming interior items using decoupage technique, please do not judge strictly ...
