To sew a baptismal shirt, you will need a white cotton fabric (preferably calico), sewing with a curly edge on a cotton base, satin white ribbon 5 mm wide and 2 * 15 cm long for ties, sewing threads, sewing machine, overlog, scissors . The manufacturing process of any textile product consists of 3 stages: cutting, sewing, ironing. Before opening the cotton fabric, it is better to soak it in warm water and then let it dry, or at least iron it with steam. Then the fabric will give a possible shrinkage, and thereby prevent possible deformation of the finished product due to a change in the linear dimensions of the fabric after washing. From coarse calico, the following details need to be cut: right and left shelves, back and two sleeves of the future shirt.

Sewing a shirt includes the procurement of individual parts and the direct installation of the product as a whole. So, the preparation of the sleeves consists in the sewing of sewing along their lower cuts.

Installation of the product includes the assembly of the product at the shoulder seams, stitching sleeves in open armholes.

Then the side seams of the shirt are stitched together with the lower seams of the sleeves. A tie is inserted into the left side seam.

After that, sewing is sewn along the cuts of the side and neck, the bottom of the shirt is hemmed. The second tie is sewn into the starboard side.

The final step in sewing a baptismal shirt is to sew a cross with a side of 5 cm on the back. This can be done either by sewing a dense zig-zag, laying it according to the markup, or by stitching a narrow ribbon. Cotton fabrics are highly creased, so you should not pick up a finished shirt immediately after ironing - it is better if it lies on an ironing board until it cools completely. Or you can shape it with starches.
