With the advent of spring, the season of summer residents and gardeners begins. At this wonderful time, there is no time for rest, because you need to have time to plant and grow seedlings in order to please yourself and loved ones with homemade vegetables from your own garden. In order not to be disappointed in the fruits of their labor, many prefer to do this in greenhouses.
These simple devices can significantly improve the crop, and to avoid the effects of the vagaries of the weather, such as frost. They are easy to control temperature, degree of illumination and humidity. It remains to find an economical and durable version of the greenhouse so that it lasts for more than one year. And it is precisely such a greenhouse that we will consider today.

Materials for the greenhouse

Our greenhouse will be 3x5 meters in size, but its dimensions can be arbitrary. The material for the frame is PVC cold water pipe (HV).
The specification is as follows:

We will cover the greenhouse with a piece of plastic film of 7x9 meters. Short cuts from pipes should not be thrown out. They can be adapted for auxiliary elements - door handles and clamps.
Of the accessories we need: several window hinges, screws with washers or wide hats (preferably anodized).
Tool: a hammer, a hacksaw for metal or a grinder for cutting pipes, a screwdriver with a nozzle for self-tapping screws, a knife, a tape measure and a pencil or marker. Well, every gardener will always have a shovel with a hoe. So here we go!

We assemble a greenhouse from PVC pipes

Preparing the base for the greenhouse

A greenhouse needs a solid foundation for stability. Instead of major concreting, we use pipe segments with a diameter of 40 mm. We cut lengths of it half a meter from it (for whom the soil is loose, it can be longer), and drive it into the ground with an interval of 1 meter.

Set arcs

The frame gives the shape of the greenhouse, which in our case will be semicircular. We take pipe segments by 32 mm, and bend them, inserting into the racks. It should turn out exactly six semicircular arches. You can fix arcs in racks in the following ways:
1. Soldering with a plumbing iron is a reliable method, but it makes the arches of the greenhouse non-separable;
2. For self-tapping screws - the internal hole of the racks is expanded with a mill or a knife so that a pipe of a smaller diameter is inserted into it freely. The connection is then easily fixed to the screws with a drill or screwdriver.

Fasten the joints

The next step in the assembly of the frame of the greenhouse will be the installation of the connecting cross members. We make them from segments with a length of 5 m. Such elements will need only three. To avoid the accumulation of excess moisture inside the pipes, we solder the plastic plugs of the appropriate diameter at the ends.
To connect to the arcs, the author applied a special mounting clamp (photo).
Replace it with anodized self-tapping screws, nylon ties or an unnecessary piece of aluminum cable.

We mount doors

In conclusion, it is necessary to equip the doors in our greenhouse. To do this, take a pair of segments of 2 and 1.15 meters for each door, and fix them in the form of a rectangular box under the canvas on both sides of the greenhouse.
We make the frame for the door from a pipe of the same diameter, reinforcing the cross in the middle. We calculate gaps of about 1 cm around the entire perimeter of the rectangle. As hinges, any narrow window hinges of simple opening that can be installed on self-tapping screws are suitable. We make the door handle from a short piece of pipe, and mount it on plastic clips, fixing it with self-tapping screws. For stiffness on the handle side, another cross member can be placed.

Stretch the film

We cut the plastic film cut to size over the greenhouse. To fix it on the pipes, you can cut semicircular plates of waste from the same pipe 10-20 cm long, and tighten them with self-tapping screws. A rubber pipe of suitable diameter is also suitable. If you cut a length from it along, you get a flexible tight-fitting clamp that is easy to install and remove if necessary manually.
At the base of the greenhouse, the author advises to make a 20x20 cm channel, and to press the film with earthen soil.

Such greenhouses have many advantages. PVC pipes can be bought anywhere. This material does not decay and is not destroyed outdoors for decades. The diameter of the pipes can be selected depending on the size of the greenhouse, and the mounting clamps can be made by yourself. For the rest, such a project provides complete creative freedom for a real gardener and a lover of home farming. All a good harvest!
