Using a hydraulic or screw jack, it will not be possible to quickly replace the wheels of the machine, since these mechanisms are not classified as high-speed ones. If you value your time, in addition to a jack or an emphasis, make a simple contraption that will help speed up the process of removing and installing automobile wheels. Moreover, scarce and expensive materials, tools and devices are not needed for this.

Will need

To make a homemade lift, we need to prepare the following materials:
  • piece of steel pipe;
  • profile pipe;
  • steel T-shaped profile;
  • threaded steel rod and 4 nuts;
  • two tubeless wheels.

For the manufacture of parts and assembly of our homemade products, we can not do without:
  • pendulum saw;
  • semi-automatic welding equipment;
  • drilling machine with a drilling head.

Production of a high-speed lift

We start work with the main unit, which will perceive the weight of the car, and transmit it to the ground through the wheels. To do this, using a pendulum saw, we cut a piece of steel round pipe and the length of the profile pipe that is exactly the same in length.

It is clear that the dimensions of these parts must be calculated in advance in order to withstand the load being lifted - in our case, at least half the mass of the car.
We insert a round pipe into the profile one and, having aligned the ends, reliably weld them from two sides along the contact lines in the transverse and longitudinal directions. This will be the horizontal force element of our device.

We cut off another piece of the profile pipe and weld it vertically in the center of a horizontal assembly consisting of a profile and a round pipe.

We measure and mark off another design length of the profile pipe. From one end on the machine with a drill head we make a through hole.

This part is the future lever for lifting the machine, and the longer it is, the less effort will be required.
From the profile pipe installed at an angle to the blade of the pendulum saw, we cut off a fragment that is welded to the upper end of the rack with the bevel outward.

This will allow the element interacting with the machine assembly in an elevated position to ensure horizontalness.
We weld a segment of the T-shaped profile to the oblique fragment parallel to the base, consisting of a profile and a round pipe.
On the side to the horizontal profile pipe under the vertical element at an angle we weld the handle-lever.

We insert a segment of a round pipe into the hole at its other end and weld on both sides. This cross member is needed to apply hand force to the lever when lifting the machine.

In a round pipe welded inside the profile, we insert a steel stud of the appropriate diameter and length so that its ends protrude outward.

On both ends we screw on the nut until it stops, then we install tubeless wheels and tighten them with two other nuts. Our homemade lift is ready to go.

Lift test

We bring it under the car and lean on the handle with the weight of our body. If, for example, the ratio of the shoulders of our lift is 10: 1 (150 cm: 15 cm), then with a body weight of 75 kg the lifting force will be 750 kg, which is quite enough to lift a medium-sized car.

After lifting, holding our device, we install a jack or an emphasis under the machine and lower the weight of the machine on them.

After completion of work, we again raise the car with our device and remove the jack or emphasis.
