Trace of memory

Children are the flowers of life !!! And how nice to hold their tiny hands and feet in their hands. And so I want to remember these tiny “paws” forever.
Now the store has a huge selection of kits for creativity, among which you can certainly find a kit for making casts of pens and legs, but all these kits are so expensive, and it’s much more pleasant and cheaper to do all these wonders with your own hands! Moreover, you need absolutely nothing: 1 glass of salt, preferably fine - “Extra”, but in this master class I have large salt (as luck would have it in no store, for some reason there was no fine salt), 1 glass of wheat flour, 2 tablespoons vegetable oil, 0.5 cups of cold water and building gypsum (alabaster).

First we make the “molds”, for this we pour salt and flour into a bowl and mix thoroughly.

Next, add 2 tbsp. vegetable oil and grind all the ingredients. Now slowly pour in water and knead a thick dough.

Divide the dough into 2 parts and roll out about 1 cm thick.

Next, we shift the “cakes” onto the baking sheet and make an imprint of the handle and legs (if the child is small, then first put the dough on the handles and legs - make a mold, and only then, carefully, so as not to deform the impression, put the dough on a sheet.). The footprint should remain clear and as deep as possible. Now we put the sheet with the blanks in the oven, preheated to 70 degrees (no more), and leave it for 2.5 hours. Then we get the blanks and put them on the battery for a day. Well, our molds are ready.

Now we make the “filling” in the bowl, pour the building gypsum and pour cold water, mix. The consistency should be like thick sour cream.

With the prepared consistency, fill our molds, it is necessary to do this as quickly as possible, because the alabaster freezes quickly enough.

Leave overnight so that the mixture hardens as it should. Then gently prying with a knife, we get a mold from the "mold". We cut off all the “unnecessary things” with a knife and file the contours with a nail file (do everything very carefully). These are the casts I got. It is advisable to coat the "cooked" arms and legs with varnish.
What to do with casts next? You decide! It all depends on your desire and imagination! You can decorate with acrylic paints (before coating with varnish), you can arrange everything in a frame, add a photo of your favorite child. And you can make casts of a child, mom and dad and put together the "composition" together, again adding photos.

That's so easy and without significant costs (you can say from improvised means) you can leave tiny traces in your memory and plus decorate, for example, one of the walls of your apartment or children's room (if you put everything in a beautiful frame)!
