Using cement, you can create many decorative garden elements. For example, large flowerpots for flowers.

In this review, the author tells how to make a pot-bowl with a surface imitating a wild stone with your own hands.

First of all, you will need a plaster grid and a regular rubber ball.

Knead a thick cement mortar and gradually cover the entire ball, strengthening the layers with a net.

The main stages of work

At the next stage, you need to allow the workpiece to dry and it will be possible to start creating the texture.

Pay attention to the wall thickness of the future flowerpot, the product must be durable.

For a decorative layer, take 1 part of cement and 2-3 parts of sand. Moisten the surface of the dried workpiece from the spray gun and apply the compound liberally, smoothing the surface well.

We will create the texture of the rock with a metal brush, a shoe knife and a simple brush.

Give the cement 2-3 hours so that it grasps, and then you can start work.

With a knife, outline the protrusions and indentations. Brush the excess composition with a brush to clearly see the intermediate result.

By patting with a brush, you will create a rough stone texture.

It is important to make the pattern heterogeneous. Somewhere you can add more deep cracks and frequent grooves, somewhere - make a more even surface with large protrusions.

Make a hole at the top of the flowerpot and let it dry. When the cement turns white, it is necessary to remove the remains of cement dust and sand with a rough brush.

Our ball-rock is ready. Now with the help of paints and varnish you can give it the desired color. It is better to choose at least three different shades, so the texture of the stone will look more natural.
