In this review, the author offers the idea of how to make a do-it-yourself clamp for a home workshop. This vaima differs from its "relatives" in that it is fixed in a bench vise.

A homemade hook can be useful for gluing boards from boards, as well as for fixing large workpieces that cannot be clamped in a vice.

To make this device you will need a piece of steel C-shaped profile. If there is no such profile, then it can be made from an ordinary profile pipe by cutting out a part of the wall with a grinder.

Also, for this homemade product you will need eight pieces of a building corner: 4 long and 4 short.

The main stages of work

At the next stage of work, with the help of a center finder, the author makes markings on a C-shaped profile and drills holes at the same distance from each other.

We already wrote how to make a center finder with your own hands - for a detailed overview of this homemade product, see here.

Next, it will be necessary to weld two short workpieces from the corner to a long segment so that the profile can freely pass between them.

The master welds another piece of the building corner to the resulting part. Welds will need to be cleaned using angle grinders.

At the end of the C-shaped profile, the master welds another corner - this will be a fixed clamping jaw.

The last part is made from the remaining blanks, then all that remains is to paint everything. We install a lock in a bench vise.
