If you need to fix a workpiece made of metal or wood in the middle of the table, then an ordinary bench clamp F- or G-shaped design will not cope with this task.

However, this problem can be solved - it’s quite simple to make an extension pipe from a professional pipe for a clamp. It can be made for any clamp, however, in this review, the author makes an extension cable specifically for the G-shaped clamp.

First of all, it is necessary to cut off two pieces of the profile of the same length. Then we make a marking and drill holes in the clamp itself and the blanks from the professional pipe.

The main stages of work

At the next stage, the author cuts four more blanks from the profile pipe. All parts are welded together. As a result, two clamping “paws” of the desired length should be obtained.

Further, it will only be necessary to strip the welds and drill one more hole at the ends of the “paws”. And from the metal plates you need to weld the clamping jaws, which will be attached to the bolts.

After that, you just have to paint everything, and you can already begin to assemble the elongated clamp. As you can see, there is nothing complicated here.
