In this review, the author decided to make a do-it-yourself power saw from a drill with his own hands, and positions it as an alternative to a factory electric jigsaw.

Of course, it’s much easier to buy a normal jigsaw (even at least used) than to make such a dubious device. However, according to the author, this homemade product can come in handy just in cases where there is no jigsaw on hand.

And the first thing you need to do is to cut out two round pieces from a piece of board. For this, the author uses a crown on a tree of suitable diameter.

The rounds themselves must be adjusted to the diameter of the plastic pipe. They also need to drill through holes in the center.

The main stages of work

In a long bolt with a flat hat you need to make a longitudinal cut on the end. First, it must be cut with a regular metal file, then expanded with a cutting disc of the grinder.

In one of the rounds, the author drills another hole with a certain offset from the center. A piece of brass or copper pipe will need to be pressed into it.

Next, a spring, a washer and a round timber with a brass tube must be put on the bolt. Then tighten and tighten with a nut.

At the next stage, the saw blade must be inserted into the slot in the bolt, fixing it with nuts so that it does not accidentally pop out during operation.

Cut a part of the second round log at a slight angle, drill a hole in the center with a feather drill, then insert a long bolt into it. The resulting part is clamped in the drill chuck or screwdriver.

We insert the part with the file into the pipe, which we then attach to the first round log clamped in the chuck of a screwdriver. We fix the pipe with a clamp. At the last stage, you only need to make a support sole.
