To make a machete at home (in a workshop or garage), it is not necessary to be a seasoned craftsman or to be a blacksmith in the seventh knee.

A knife can even be made from an ordinary makeshift "workpiece" - for example, from a hand saw in wood.

Why do you need a homemade machete knife? Such a knife can be useful when hiking or fishing - to chop branches or “mow” some shrub under the root.

The main stages of work

First of all, remove the saw handle. On the canvas, draw the shape of a machete. After that, cut the workpiece with a grinder (or you can on a band saw).

All bumps and burrs on the workpiece will need to be removed using a grinding wheel for angle grinders or on the grinder.

At the next stage, we fix the workpiece in a yew or using a clamp, and cut out the handle.

Further, the workpiece will need to be sanded on a grinder or on a grinding machine. You can also use a conventional grinder, installing it for convenience stationary.

In the end, it remains only to sharpen the blade, as well as make two pads on the handle of wood. Before installing them, you need to drill holes for the rivets.
