From an old propane tank (from under propane) you will get a great sandblast for home use. With it, you can quickly clean metal workpieces from rust, dirt and old paint.

Before proceeding with the manufacture of a sandblasting apparatus, the cylinder itself needs to be washed several times with water, and preferably with an aqueous solution (with the addition of detergent for dishes). Please note that you need to drain the water from the gas bottle away from home.

In addition to the cylinder itself, for the manufacture of a home-made sandblasting apparatus, some more details will be required: drives, taps, tees, clamps, etc.

Sandblasting Process

First, you will need to cut the round stand at the bottom of the gas bottle. After that, using a metal crown, you need to drill a hole in the bottom of the cylinder (if there is no crown, you can burn it by welding).

In the place where the hole is drilled, you need to weld a piece of pipe with a thread. You also need to make a cap for the neck. On the side with a 22 mm diameter metal bit, you need to drill a hole for an inch squeegee.

The next step is the assembly and installation of fittings. Then the handles and brackets for the wheels are welded. After that, legs from pieces of a round pipe are welded. And at the end, the author welds a “hanger” for the hose to the cylinder.
