An urgent need to remove the bearing from the motor shaft, but do not know how to do this? In this case, you will need a special tool - a bearing puller. You can make it yourself from a big star from a bicycle.

With such a homemade puller, you can easily remove the bearing from the shaft without damaging it. Moreover, the materials for its manufacture are not expensive or scarce.

To make this device you will need a piece of metal strip, a stud and a pair of elongated nuts. From the tool you will need a grinder (angle grinder), an electric drill or a drilling machine and a welding machine.

The main stages of work

The first thing you need to do from a bicycle sprocket is to cut three workpieces of the same length. For this, the master uses a grinder. First, mark the length of the workpieces, and then only cut it off.

Next, we drill holes in the upper part in future grips (hooks). After that, you will need to drill holes in a piece of strip. Then the author makes the markup and cuts 6 identical pieces with the help of a angle grinder. They must be processed on a grinding machine.

At the next stage, we connect the stripper grips with steel plates using bolts with nuts. Then the plates will need to be welded to the elongated nut.

After that, it remains to weld an elongated nut (second) to the end of the stud. The very same stud is screwed into the first nut with "tentacles". For details on how to make a convenient bearing puller out of a bicycle sprocket, see this video.
