When you need to evenly hammer a small nail into a wall or a wooden workpiece, you have to hold it with your fingers or use different devices. However, both of these options are not the most convenient.

It is difficult for them to ensure smooth nail driving, especially in very hard material. This problem can be solved by making a small home-made “nozzle” from a short but strong enough bolt.

First, the bolt must be clamped in a vice, then make a slot with a grinder. Clogged nails will be placed in them.

The main stages of work

First of all, a longitudinal section is made, then transverse at its upper edge. A recess is drilled at the intersection of the sections. Sharp edges will need to be sanded.

A small metal magnet circle is glued into the drilled hole. His task will be to hold the nails. As a handle of the future hammer, a metal pin is welded to the bolt. Its thickness and length can be individually selected for your hand, so that it is convenient.

Then you need to clean all the welding spots and the product itself from burrs and roughnesses. A simple hammer head is ready. Now there is no need to fear for your fingers when working with a hammer, as well as look for cloves that have slipped out of your hands and fallen, to pull out inadvertently bent ones.

Details on how to make such a simple device for a hammer, you can see in the video on our website.
