Every craftsman who works with an electric drill, sooner or later faces the need to sharpen drills. In order not to sharpen the drill with your hands, you can use a very simple homemade clamp. This device can be made from a bolt and two nuts.

A device for convenient sharpening drills makes it possible to sharpen drill bits for metal as accurately and efficiently as possible (for wood, if necessary).

For this homemade product you will need one ordinary nut and one elongated one. First we do the marking (we draw two oblique lines in two places), and then we cut it out with a grinder. As a result, a triangular cut-out should be obtained in the end part of the elongated nut.

The main stages of work

Then, at the end where the cut was made, we weld a regular nut. Clamp both nuts in a vise (can be fixed with an ordinary clamp), and then scald. It is enough to put a few tacks on the sides, since this connection will not carry any load.

Many experienced craftsmen rarely use tools in practice for sharpening drills, relying entirely on personal experience and an eye. But for beginners, such homemade work will come in handy. The clamp for convenient sharpening drills will provide high accuracy and high-quality results.

After the nuts are boiled, we beat off the slag and clean the welds. Then we screw in a suitable bolt in diameter. For details on how to make a simple clamp with your own hands for convenient sharpening of drills from a bolt and nuts, we recommend that you look in the video on the website.
