Tired of chopping walnuts with your hands? Then make a simple nut cracker driven by a car window motor for cracking the shell. With this device, you can chop a large number of nuts with a high percentage of the output of the whole kernel.

In this case, the nut cracker replaces the hammer. Walnut is immersed in a working chamber with a shaft. As a result of pressing against the wall, the nut breaks. The wall of the metal plate is adjustable to the size of the nut. Moreover, you can adjust directly in the process, which is very convenient.

First of all, it will be necessary to cut off two rectangular blanks from a sheet of metal with a thickness of 5-6 mm. These will be the walls of the walnut-cracker body. We mark the hole for the motor shaft, and also mark the places for mounting holes with a marker.

The process of making a nut cracker

We fasten the car window motor to the plate on the bolts. Then cut off the size of two more plates, and weld the walnut-cracker body. To one of the side walls of the housing using a conventional loop we attach a movable plate.

We take a round log of metal of suitable diameter, drill a hole in its end and cut the thread. We wind the workpiece onto the motor shaft. Then we weld the hairpin segments to the round timber. You can also use pieces of the bolt, having previously trimmed the hat.

At the last stage of the work, we paint all the structural elements, and then fasten the wing bolt to adjust the movable wall of the housing. See the video on the website for the step-by-step process of making a homemade nut-cracker with a drive from a window motor.
