If you need to bend sections of metal strips at a certain angle (for example, at 90 or 45 degrees) in a summer house or at home, you can make a simple adaptation for this from an old open-end wrench.

Moreover, it is desirable to use an open-end wrench with a large throat so that it is possible to bend metal strips of different widths. Also for this homemade product you will need a small piece of steel square or round bar of suitable thickness.

From the main tool for work, you will need an angle grinder with a cutting disc and a welding machine. To make this simple home-made device for bending metal strips with your own hands, it will take no more than 10-15 minutes.

The main stages of work

First of all, mark with a marker two lines along which it will be necessary to make cuts with the help of a grinder. The depth of the "groove" itself should be at least 1/3 of the thickness of the sponge of a spanner. At the base of the head of the key you need to cut a rectangular wide groove.

After that, cut a piece of square or round bar. We insert it into the slot and scald. Next, cut off another short bar for the second “groove”, however, it is not necessary to weld it, since it will be used as an auxiliary stop.

The finished tool is clamped in a vice - it will be inconvenient to use it in your hands. More information on how to make a homemade device for bending metal strips from an open-end wrench can be found in the video on the website.
