We bring to your attention a very interesting version of a home-made rocket furnace in a casing of a 20-liter gasoline canister, which is ideal for relaxing outside the city or in a summer cottage. In addition to the canister itself, you will need three pieces of a profile pipe 150x150 mm, as well as pieces of metal and a loop.

First of all, the surface of the canister must be cleaned of paint and rust. To do this, you can use an angle grinder with a cleaning disc for metal or a sandblasting machine. The second option is preferable, since the process of removing paint will take less time.

The main stages of work

Then, using a grinder, we cut off the handles and the side of the canister. Three sections are cut from the profile pipe 150x150 mm, one of which must be at 45 degrees. In the lower section of the profile pipe we mark and drill 25 holes, after which we make two slots with a grinder and bend part of the wall with holes inside the pipe.

We cut out the square holes in the pipes and canister, after which we weld three segments together - two at right angles, and the third at an angle of 45 degrees. Next, we weld back the cut side of the canister and handles, reinforcing them with steel bars.

On the side of the canister we cut out a rectangular “window”, and fasten the plate to two loops and fasten the latches - as a result, we get a door. In a rectangular opening we insert a box of sheet metal (it is better to take a stainless steel) and grab it by welding.

In the side compartment, it will be possible to store various camping accessories - matches, poker, gasoline for ignition, etc. We make a small door on the hinges for the combustion chamber, and also install a back cut piece of metal at the bottom of the canister. We paint the rocket furnace with heat-resistant paint.
