This street table will be an excellent decoration for a summer cottage or house. A wide unedged board made of ash is used as a table top (you can also take an oak board as a basis). Most importantly, the material should have a dry moisture content of 8-12%. Otherwise, the tabletop may crack in the open air.

The main stages of work

The first step is to plan the board to the required thickness. But since this operation is not possible due to the large thickness of the workpiece on the jointer, it is possible to use a manual milling cutter, having previously made a movable carriage with guides.

The surface is milled from two sides and then ground (you can use a grinder or grinder with a nozzle). At the next stage, using the hand saw, it is necessary to evenly trim the ends of the board. The bark can be carefully removed with a chisel or hatchet.

If there are deep cracks on the surface, they can be pulled together with brackets made of nails, and then filled with epoxy. In this case, we also get a cool decorative effect. So that the brackets do not protrude above the surface, you need to make a groove with a milling cutter.

Table frame welding

As legs for a coffee table, you can use twisted (twisted) pipes, which can be ordered in workshops specializing in the art of forging metal. The legs are connected to each other at an angle using four decorative profiles. In this case, welding is used. The tabletop is bolted to the metal frame. The surface of the coffee table is covered with transparent varnish.
