The handyman just needs a hammer at hand, it is one of the main locksmith tools. The main criterion of this tool is of course convenience and it is often due to the shape of the handle. If the time has come to plant the iron part on a fresh handle, you need to do this in a reliable way, using a screw wedge.

Before installing the handle, you can modify the hole by squandering it “on the wedge” using a file or a manual drill. The next step will be to adjust the handle to the hole, the more accurate it is, the more reliable the mount.

When the preparatory work behind you can begin to implement the fasteners, for this you will need a screw with an internal hexagon. A hole is drilled from the side of the hammer mount and crosswise cuts are made. Then, a barrel-shaped nut must be placed in the handle in the channel for the fixing screw.

The fixing screw should be modified by sharpening its head under the cone on the thread side, so as not to damage the hexagon from the outside. Now everything is ready for assembly and testing.
