Even from an ordinary old chandelier made in the USSR, you can make an interesting decorative element in the interior in the steampunk style. The main thing is to show a little imagination and correctly select "new" parts from those materials that are at hand.

The main stages of work

First of all, it is necessary to disassemble the Soviet lamp. Then it will be necessary to select the appropriate parts for "tuning" - it is advisable to choose something from the trash. In this case, for the manufacture of a lamp in the steampunk style, a leading sprocket from a bicycle is useful, which must first be cleaned from rust.
Then, on the lamp tubes, on which the cartridges with bulbs are mounted, you need to put on a metal flexible hose from the shower. After that, they need to be installed in place, taking welding for greater reliability. You will also need to use sprockets from a bicycle of a smaller diameter, a piece of tube with a tip, a spring and other little things for decoration.

When all the main parts are fitted, you need to disassemble the lamp again, brush the exterior elements well with a brush-tip on the metal, paint them with black paint, and then reassemble this structure. Assembly is carried out on a top-down basis. Then, using gold acrylic paint, you need to patinate the surface.

To summarize

Such an updated chandelier has nothing to do with its Soviet counterpart, because it looks very stylish and perfectly in harmony with the modern interior - such a decorative element should definitely be hung in a prominent place.
