Funny sunflowers

Recently, wandering aimlessly around the needlework store, I came across a funny and warm picture. It was a motif of sunflowers on a decoupage napkin. And before that, she liked me, which I immediately decided to reproduce as a picture. Without thinking twice, I bought everything I needed:

satin ribbons for embroidery (6mm and 12mm);
hoop;
canvas (it is better to take with small holes);
needle (with a wide eye and a sharp end).
Before embroidering, you need to make a rough sketch of the design, which was chosen as a nature. I decided to draw it with a light felt-tip pen to match the ribbons.

Also, a marker that is washed off with water is ideal.
We start sewing. Having fixed the tape on the back side of the canvas, we bring out the needle with the tape on the outline of the inner circle.

Since my drawing does not erase, I make a second puncture a little outside the outer circle.

The next petal is made in the same way, only from the top to the middle, so that there is no unnecessary consumption of ribbons.

Using this technology, we embroider all the petals.

We proceed to fill the middle. Since the selected picture shows sunflowers at the time of flowering, the middle consists of three colors: yellow, green and brown. We start with yellow. We will perform core filling using the “knot” technique. To do this, we bring out the thread with the desired color of tape in the center, put the needle closer to the base and cover it with tape.

Then, we loop around the needle with a ribbon, and wind the needle into the adjacent hole on the canvas.

Carefully holding with your finger, we extend the entire free segment of the tape inside out, forming a knot on the front side.

Thus makes a circle of nodules of yellow color.

Next, repeat the procedure, but in brown and green.

The last two are scattered in a chaotic manner.
We also perform the second sunflower.

In order to prevent our flowers from hanging in the air, we embroider stems and leaves with them. To do this, it is best to use a seam with the consonant name "stalk". Bring the needle with the ribbon to the front side and start a little lower by making a small stitch at an angle.

The second stitch starts from the middle of the first, and ends below the previous one.

Thus, we “draw” the weight of the stem and processes for the leaves.

Now outline the leaves with a felt-tip pen.

And, already with a green ribbon, we occupy the necessary space.

We embroider individual veins with dark ribbons of green tint.

Our sunflowers are ready.

True, I have not yet decided what frame to put them in.
