I really like working with threads. I knit, crochet, embroider, make paintings in the style of string art and nitkography. It is so relaxing after a hard day, distracting from household chores, that the next morning I want to live and work again. Constantly after work, small skeins of yarn remain. Where to apply them? And once I decided to make a simple and long-forgotten amulet doll. Often such dolls are made of fabric, presented to children and they serve as a certain protection. But the craft made of threads also has similar strength. In addition, this work is much simpler and requires less material costs. Plus, as I said above, you will solve the problem with the remains of small skeins of thread.
What needs to be prepared for work? I took:
- a small glomerulus of gray knitting thread;
- a dense base (you can take a piece of wood, a book or a notebook);
- scissors;
- a decorative satin ribbon (0.5 cm wide) with a lilac hue to decorate the work.

To get started, take the thread and gradually wrap it around the base. I took a regular computer mouse pad. You can use any book, notepad in a dense cover, a piece of wood. The width of my base is about 16 cm (this will be the size of the product). Try to keep the threads close to one another.

As soon as the skein on the base is dense and fluffy, you need to stop. I got about 50 turns around the mat. This will be the body of the future chrysalis.

Now you need to make another skein of threads nearby. Only it should be less dense (20-23 turns based on it will be enough). This we do hair for the doll.

Now we take scissors and cut off the lower edge of two skeins. Try to hold on top with your hands so that they do not fall apart. Thus, two pieces were obtained: one larger and the other smaller.

It is necessary to tie a smaller workpiece with a regular knot in the middle of a larger skein. Try to keep both halves as even as possible.

Now fold the large workpiece in half, and spread the smaller base along the sides.

Next, go to the formation of the head. Leave about 3.5 cm from the top of the product and tie this part with thread. So we get the head of the chrysalis.

Now separate a few threads to the right and left from the main skein - these will be the hands of the pupa. And in the middle of the remaining length, tie the doll’s waist with a thread.

At this point, we need to braid two pigtails on top. You can leave ponytails or weave one big braid. In a word, we do a doll hairstyle.

And now we are forming pens for our product. You can also make them in the form of weaves or knit at the ends in bundles, or weave into braids.

Now it remains only to trim all the threads protruding at the edges, comb the doll’s skirt with your hands and decorate the product. For this, I used a thin satin ribbon of lilac color. You can take any shade and other decorative ornaments.
