Alternative light source from a blown lamp

In the country or in a private house, there may be no electricity. This often happens during accidents at power lines or transformer substations.

In order not to sit in the dark, you can use candles or an alternative light source, which can be made from a burned out lamp.

In fact, this is an ordinary kerosene lamp, but made in a modern manner. Perhaps someone will like the idea.

First of all, using a hand saw (grinder or, for example, a drill), you must carefully cut off the upper part of the lamp base. The inside of the lamp is removed.

Then you will need to choose a suitable metal cover in size. You can use a glass bottle cap.

The main stages of work

In the metal cover in the center, the author drills a hole for the wick. The edges need to be filed.

In the next step, it will be necessary to cut off the ring from a piece of steel pipe.

Also, from a strip of metal, the author makes a blank for the handle of our kerosene lamp.

You will also need to find a metal stand with a hole in the center on which the bulb will be installed.

The ring is welded to the handle. When all the parts are ready, you can start assembling.

We attach the handle to the stand, putting the ring on the light bulb. We pour kerosene into the light bulb. Then we put on the cover and through the hole we pass the wick.

Details on how to make an alternative light source from a burned out lamp can be seen in the video.
