From a regular polypropylene rope cord, you can make a simple knife of an original shape with your own hands. For some serious work, of course, it will not work. But such a craft can be presented as a gift.

To make this knife, you will need a rope cord, shape and gas burner. And for finishing workpieces it is best to use a belt grinder or grinder.

But, in principle, it will also turn out to give the desired shape with a hand file. It just takes a little longer.

The main stages of work

First of all, you need to cut the rope into small pieces about 5-7 cm long. When you get a decent "bunch", you can proceed to the next stage of work.

Then it will be necessary to prepare a rectangular metal mold and cover it with foil from the inside. Then the master throws the prepared "bits" of the rope cord onto the foil, and melts them with a gas burner.

At the next stage, the resulting rectangular block of polypropylene should be lightly sanded on one side. Next, the master draws a knife template, and proceeds to processing the workpiece on a belt grinder.

In the end, it remains only to make the descent of the blade, like a real knife. If desired, you can cover the product with varnish. Details on how to make a simple original knife from a polypropylene rope cord with your own hands can be found in the video on the website.
