Using this device, which does not take up much space in the workshop, it is possible to quickly and easily clean the aluminum or copper wire from insulation. You can make a stationary stripper for wires from improvised materials in just a few hours.

Materials and stages of work

For the manufacture of a "home" home-made stripper for wires, steel plates of different lengths, two cone-shaped metal blanks, a shaft, a stud and nuts with washers are required. First of all, it is necessary to weld vertically two steel plates with holes for bearings to the base of the structure.
On top of the plates you need to weld another plate shorter - this will be the upper part of the structure. During the welding process, it is important to ensure that the parts are located at right angles. To do this, it is best to use a magnetic square.

Then, on the cone-shaped parts using a hacksaw for metal, it is necessary to make notches, thanks to which the wire will not jump out of the "socket" during the drawing process. The truncated workpieces themselves are mounted on the shaft, which is installed in bearings located in the side plates.

The final stage of work

Also, over the pulling rollers, it will be necessary to install a shaft with a special cutting knife of a round shape, which will cut through the sheath of the wire.

In addition, during the assembly of the stripper, it is necessary to fasten four narrow steel plates to the vertical posts, after having previously drilled holes for bolts in them.
