Outside the window, snow is spinning. Due to the white shroud on the street, it has significantly brightened. The sky no longer seems so gray, but the mood is gloomy. Winter has come - it’s time to prepare for the New Year and Christmas.
No paper crafts in winter anywhere. Children carve openwork snowflakes, pictures - stencils with the image of fir trees or bells, glue colorful garlands. Homemade decorations decorate rooms in a kindergarten or rooms at home. From shiny tinsel, wonderful decorative elements, such as stars, snowflakes or balls, are obtained at all. The indisputable advantage of crafts from improvised materials is that they keep their shape well.
Today we offer to make a snowflake up to 15 cm in size. For work you will need:
- tinsel silver or blue
- a plastic cup of yogurt
- scissors.
If the tinsel is based on a wire that does not hold its shape well, it is additionally worth preparing an adhesive or a stapler to fix the edges of the craft.

We don’t have a wire from which to frame a snowflake frame, so we decided to experiment with yogurt glasses. I must say, successfully.
So, we arm ourselves with scissors. The task at the first stage is to remove the hard top of the glass and cut eight rays from plastic, four of which with two branches. Do not touch the bottom.

The picture clearly shows the result of the correct execution of actions.

As a result, we should get such a frame of crafts - a round center with rays in the amount of 8 pieces.

Then we take tinsel in our hands and wrap the plastic parts in a spiral. It is better to start the work from the base (circle) of the craft, gradually moving to the top of the first ray, and then back to the middle.

At the next stage, we move on to the second ray.

It should be noted that the direction and frequency of the tinsel turns on the plastic do not matter. The main thing is that the rows fit snugly against one another.

If necessary, tinsel can be bent and fixed at the top of the rays with a stapler. However, I repeat, at the heart of the tape is a soft wire that perfectly holds bending places without additional fasteners.

To make one snowflake, we needed one ribbon of tinsel with a length of 3 m without a trace.

The end of the work fell in the middle of the craft. And again, we did not have to use glue. We hid the edge of tinsel under one of the rays.

To summarize the event - a great eight-pointed snowflake was made from a plastic cup and tinsel.

Such a decoration cannot be used as a Christmas tree toy (the size of the product is too large). But to hang a snowflake on the wall is the right decision.
It's time to say goodbye. We wish you all fresh New Year ideas, creativity and creative inspiration!
